City of Atlanta Planning Book
“The Atlanta City Design: Aspiring to the Beloved Community” was the product of the Atlanta Department of City Planning under Commissioner Tim Keane and Ryan Gravel, an urban planner who envisioned the Atlanta BeltLine.
Design Progression
Originally clad in tranquil blues, the book mirrored the city's rich history and enduring traditions, capturing Atlanta's essence as a city steeped in heritage. Yet, as the book was out in the world, a metamorphosis of the color pallet took place, much like the city's own transformative journey. The once serene blue tones yield gracefully to vivacious oranges, symbolizing Atlanta's relentless pursuit of progress, inclusivity, and the realization of the Beloved Community.
